Release Alpha V0.7.0


A new version of Stellaria is now available. Here is the list of changes:

Major change

Name has been changed from The Legend of Shrimps to Stellaria.

Added

  • Improved villagers
    • When a villager is killed, it has now 20% chance to drop one of its clothes, or 80% chance to drop an item relative to its job
    • Reduced villager life from 20 to 12
    • Villagers clothes depend on their job. They also have an item in hand that depends of their current occupation
    • The number of villagers walking in the village depends on the number of available beds. This value is specific to each house
    • Villagers now come back in the village if they are too far from the city center
    • Added tastes. It has an impact when player gives something to the villager
    • Added 4 interactions available by doing a right click:
      • Trade: Exchange items and stellarcoins
      • Give: Give a gift (strongly increase reputation)
      • Ask: Ask an item (strongly reduce reputation)
      • Chat: Can give information, start a simple discussion, or start a quest
  • Improved player
    • He can now jump using spacebar. It has no effect on energy
    • Added 1 new beard variant
    • Added 2 new skin variants
    • Added 2 new eyes variants
    • Added 3 new hairs variants

  • Arrows are now dropped on the ground when they hit a standard element. They only disappear if an entity is hit 
  • Added reputation
    • The reputation value varies for each visited village 
    • It has six level from "Leader" to "Public enemy". The default one is "Stranger". It is visible in the town hall
    • It is increased when player completes a quest, trades, or gives a gift to a villager
    • It is decreased when player asks a favor to a villager, or when he attacks a villager 


  •  Added travellers 
    •  They appear in igloos, taverns, and trading outposts. And also sometimes exploring planets
    • They can give interesting tips to the player 
    •  They drop stellarcoins or slothes after death
  • Added bandits
    • They appear during night, and try to attack the player
    • They are the only entities wearing a tool (bandit dagger)
    • They have 20% chance to drop a clothe after death
  • Added bandit lair: They can appear on all planets, and contain bandits. This is the only place where player can find a bandit's dagger
  • Added sawmill: Cannot be naturally found, needs to be built by player. Allows finding wood tools and woodpiles
  • Added hunting lodge: Rare building, only appearing in forested planets. Can be used as a refuge during night


  • Clothes
    • Added 18 new clothes: crimson classics bandit, explorer, cook, thug, etc
    • Several crafting recipes have been updated to make the process more accessible and user-friendly
    • Updated price of various clothes
    • Feathers and cocoa can now be used to craft new clothes
    • Black suit and chef clothes can only be found in wood closet
    • Spring skirt and spring short now have 15% chance to be found in ruins forum
  • Added woodpiles
    • They can be crafted, or naturally found in sawmills
    • There are three different variants, corresponding to the three different wood types
  • Added trophy hunting
    • It is a rare element that can only be found in hunting lodge
    • There are two different variants

  • Patterns
    • "Pots" have been renamed "patterns"
    • Added 7 more patterns: Roman stone, woodstrip, slab stone, dry plank, marble, civilized, irradiated


  • Cactus, cocoa, cotton, and sugar cane cannot grow anymore on glacial or volcanic planets
  • Improved tools
    • Added punch: When a tool is used against an entity, it delivers a punch, exerting force upon the targeted entity
      • Added bandit dagger


Changed

  • Added two different cursors: during game the cursor looks like a pointer, and during interactions with villagers or game menu it looks like an arrow

  • Updated straw bale
    • Straw bale can now be crafted using a composter instead of a workbench
    • String is not required anymore to craft it
    • Wheat is given when the straw bale is destructed


  • Items now have a shadow and a small movement when they are on the ground
  • Changed various textures: farm, igloo, and widgets appearance. It has an impact on game menu


  • Updated items probabilities in containers
    • Boxes now contain random items when they are found
    • Wood closet now contain random clothes when they are found
  • Updated torches crafting recipe. The recipe now gives 15 torches instead of 10 using the same quantity of materials
  • Crafting coal with a furnace now requires less wood, the amount depending on the variant used
    • 25 Honey maple wood -> 15 coals
    • 22 Jacobean wood -> 15 coals
    • 18 Dark walnut wood -> 15 coals
  • Adjusted strenght
    • There is now +10% chance to have +1 damage per strength point (compared to +5% previously)
    • Damages is increased by +2 if player makes extra damages thanks to strenght points, and number of strenght points is above 4
  • Updated sounds
    • Added cricket noise sounds during night, and birds sounds during day
    • Added tools destruction sounds
    • Added tools selection sounds
    • Added various sounds when player hits an entity depending if it holds a weapon or not
    • Updated rain and swimming sounds
    • Updated cloning sound
    • Updated capture sound
  • The probability of taverns appearing in the game has been reduced
  • Extension of saves files has been changed from .los to .stel
  • Removed minimum power to build a building
  • Cloning powder recipe updated, and it can now be traded
  • Sugar cane can be found in ruins
  • Padded armors now have 10% chance to be found in graveyards
  • "Shrimpcoin" has been renamed to "stellarcoin"
  • Entities cannot appear anymore on caves if light level is too high
  • Strings can now be crafted using a spinning wheel instead of a workbench

Fixed

  • Fixed collision algorithm that may fail in case of multiple entities. There was a small chance to pass through a wall or an element
