Stellaria

Introduction:

Stellaria is a unique and immersive sandbox game set in a fantastical universe. In this game, you are free to create your own stories and adventures as you explore the vast and varied universe around you.

As you journey through the game, you will encounter a range of different challenges and enemies, as spiders, draugrs, and even an evil Santa who wants to kill you. This malevolent character is a formidable foe, but with the right skills and strategy, you can overcome him and emerge victorious.

In addition to the main storyline, Stellaria also offers a wealth of activities to keep you entertained. You can gather resources, craft items, trade with villagers, and engage space combat against enemy spaceships.

Overall, Stellaria is a thrilling and immersive game that offers endless possibilities for players to create and explore. Whether you're a seasoned gamer or new to the sandbox genre, there's something for everyone in Stellaria.

Universe generation:

The universe is generated thanks to procedural generation. Depending of the local conditions, different types of planets are created. Each planet is randomly generated and populated with trees, animals, and villagers. Standards one are peaceful, making them ideal to build cities. Other planets, more dangerous, are particularly interesting to gather rare resources. Each planet has its own characteristics.

Development strategy:

The game has been created from scratch using SDL2. Everything is homemade: game engine, mechanics, algorithms, IA, assets and sounds. Don't hesitate to contact the development team for any feedback or bug.

The game is currently under development. The first milestone has been reached in June 2022. Rodamap is under definition, but next milestones are described below.

• Alpha versions - starting from V0.1.0 (released in June 2022): Initial release, with basic gameplay
  • Intermediates releases will complete the game as V0.2.0, V0.3.0, etc
  • Alphas versions are mainly used for test. The game is not yet mature, and all features are not fully available.
  • Any feedback is welcome if bugs are seen, or for any particular requests.
• Beta versions - starting from V1.0.0 (release planned for June 2024): 
  • Mature version, with enough content to create unlimited games

The current game is 100% free. A premium version will be available in the future, offering exclusive content.

The game can be freely downloaded on Itch.io. Last stable version is V0.7.0.
